The actor has broken his silence more than a year after his wife Jenisa Washington’s sudden passing
The actor, 63, shared the heartbreaking news in an emotional social media post, explaining that Jenisa suddenly collapsed on May 31, 2025, before passing away nine days later on June 9.
Isaiah revealed that his wife had suffered a massive hemorrhagic stroke and never recovered, describing her death as a “huge shock” to their family.
© Getty Images“Yes…the rumors are true,” he began alongside a black-and-white photograph of Jenisa. “My dear wife of 29 years collapsed suddenly on May 31, 2025 and passed away on June 9, 2025.”
He continued: “It came as a huge shock to me and our entire family. She succumbed to a massive hemorrhagic stroke and never recovered.”
The former Grey’s Anatomy star also used his post to urge his followers to pay attention to potentially serious health symptoms, particularly severe or unusual headaches.
